More WIP's

Well I technically have been working on my New Year's Resolution, I have been using the fabric I have....to make more quilt tops. I have had the blocks for this quilt made since last spring and last week got inspired to finally make something out of them. I put the whole thing together in just a few hours and fell in love with it. No way am I selling this one!

Fabric is Spring House by Stephanie Ryan for Moda Fabrics.

This fabric line came out last spring I believe so I could hardly find yardage for borders and binding. I found a little at Fat Quarter Shop and bought almost all they had.

I did finish a few quilts this past week and a half. I finished binding two quilts for Christmas presents for my little cousins, but of course I forgot to take a picture of them. I also got my first T-shirt quilt back from the longarmer, it turned out awesome! I bound it and gave it to my mom for her to give as a Christmas present. I did get a picture of it though, yay me for remembering!

I hope you had a great Christmas, I sure did, now its time to get back to my machine and keep working on those UFO's!

New Year's Resolution...Starting Early

I don't know about you but I have a ton of works in progress! Like, I don't even want to tell you how many quilt tops I have finished, just waiting patiently for their batting, backing, and quilting to make them complete. I also have a ton of blocks made for various quilts, that I just need to sit down and finish, so I'm going to post some of them here so I can be accountable to finish them!
What is wrong with me? Why do I make such cute quilt tops and then never finish them? Here are just some of the tops I have that need finished.

First up I have my falling charms quilt top made from Oink-A-Doodle-Moo by Jenn Ski for Moda fabrics. I absolutely fell in love with this fabric line and still love it. So much so that this is the first of 3 quilts I made with it.

I really love this quilt.

This is also an Oink-A-Doodle-Moo quilt made mainly with left overs that I have. Yes have, not had, because I still have more!

And this is the last Oink-A-Doodle-Moo quilt top.

I just love this block!

This quilt top was pieced over a year ago and I still haven't finished it. That will change, it wont sit for another year unfinished.
This is made from Daisy Cottage by Bee In My Bonnet for Riley Blake Fabrics.

And lastly, a quilt top I made today, I want to add some borders but this is another that will get finished in 2014!
I call it Wonky Jungle Squares, I feel so bad because I can't remember the name of the fabric line, but I'm pretty sure it is also from Riley Blake.

I think this blue elephant is just adorable.

Ok, so here are 5 of my works in progress, I have lots more tho! Am I the only one or do you have tons of works in progress also?

Finished Projects

I love Thanksgiving Break! It gave me a couple days to do nothing but sew! On Friday I finished a top, I will show it to you when it is quilted and finished. I finished binding the quilt that has taken way to long to bind and then started and finished another that same day. I just added them to my Etsy shop.

This quilt is made from Briar Rose by Heather Ross for Windham Fabrics.

This quilt is made from Socky by Whistler Studios for Windham Fabrics.

Just this morning I also finished binding another quilt, it is in the washer and I hope to have pictures of it and have it in my shop by tomorrow afternoon. I also have some burp cloths that I need to put in my shop, they will hopefully be there by the end of this week.

Thanks for stopping by!

Thank Goodness for iPads!

I realize last time I posted I said I would be back later that week but life got in the way. Being a college student and a procrastinator things typically don't get done until the last minute. It also doesn't help that my computer has decided not to work and the fact I'm going out of town next week for almost a week, I have been crazy busy!

Here is the only little bit of sewing I have been able to do in the past week. Binding! I love binding because it means I'm almost done!

Until next time,

How Time Fly's!

Wow, I can't believe it has been just over a month since I have posted! Talk about a bad blogger, but hey, I'm still learning here.

I have been working on a few projects over the past month including trying a new basting method and have quilted 3 quilts and made tons of baby burp cloths.

I promise to come back later this week with more info and pictures of all that I have been working on!

Half Square Triangle Love

This weekend I went a little half square triangle crazy. It started by drawing the diagonal lines on 4 white charm packs to go along with my 2 Camp-A-Lot charm packs and my 2 Sung as a Bug charm packs.
Here they are before I started sewing.

And here they are after I sewed them, cut them apart and ironed them open. Talk about a lot of HST's!

I also went a little  appliqué  crazy. I had made these blocks about a month ago and just finally got around to putting a blanket stitch on them to hold them down.

I'm about a quarter of the way done with them.

Talk about a busy sewing filled weekend!

Playing Catch-Up

Phew, it's been a busy couple of days, when I haven't been sleeping or working, I have been sewing up a storm. I started off yesterday by finishing appliquéing some blocks I had started a couple weekends ago. Isn't this one so cute.

(Fabric is In From the Cold by Kate Spain for Moda)

Next I cut these adorable strips,

to add on to blocks that I had made a couple weekends ago to make these super cute and colorful blocks. These are a couple of my favorites.

(Fabric is Scrumptious by Bonnie and Camille for Moda,
and the pattern is "Piece of Cake 3")

I will stop by tomorrow to show you the rest I worked on this weekend.

Birthday Fabric

Best present you could give a quilter for her birthday....Fabric! That's a no-brainer. During my birthday week I splurged and bought myself some.
First up I got 3 different half-yards of this adorable Bonnie and Camille print from their "Happy Go Lucky" line. I also got 3 yards and 3 charm packs white Moda Bella Solids. Is it just me or can you never have enough white fabric. I feel like I use some in each one of my quilts in some way.
Next I got 2 charm packs of "Snug as a Bug" by Melly & Me. I just love it!
And last, I have 2 charm packs of "Camp-A-Lot" by Bo Bunny.

I haven't decided what I'm going to do with them yet, I will have to decide soon though because I can hardly wait to work with them!

Well I finally bit the bullet and have a blog to share one of my loves...Quilting. On the outside I may be only almost 21 but I am totally a 70 year old grandma on the inside! Here's to having some fun and taking risks.
And because no good blog post is without a picture here is my latest Instagram shot of some scrumptious fabric, literally.
