Making Progress

*Notice* This blog post is completely random and tells what I have been up to the past month.

I have done so much since last time I posted. I got back home from spring break and spent lots of quality time with my sewing machine.

Today I finished getting 2 quits ready to go to the quilter. This is the first time I will be shipping a quilt to get quilted, I kind of cant wait to get them back. One of them is HUGE so there is no way I could quilt it on my own.

I also made this mini quilt to practice on. It took me a mental break down, cutting off the first binding and doing it all over again to finally get the hang of machine binding.
The fabric is Scrumptious by Bonnie and Camille.

Now that I have finally gotten the hang of machine binding I finished another quilt today and started quilting on another.

I also made a pretty big order form Fat Quarter Shop a couple weeks back. Most of the fabric I bought was yardage for backing and binding to finish quilts that have been hanging around for awhile.
I can't wait to dig into more of this and keep checking those UFO's off the list.
(This photo does not include the 8 yards of white I got!)

Until Next Time, which I hope will be sooner rather than later,

Oups, I did it again!

So this really has nothing to do with anything other than the fact that I went back to JoAnn's today and bought 21 more fat quarters. That makes 30 total. Oups..they just jumped in my hands.

Now I cant wait to get home so I can really dig into them.

Spring Break

Well this is spring break for me, but sadly there has been no sewing for me. Which is so sad because all I want to do is pet my fabric and then cut it up and sew it back together again. Of course some got delivered to the house but I am 9 hours away in Tennessee.
The good thing about this week is that I get to spend it with my little brother and especially my fiance. He lives here for work and I will be moving after school in May.
While he has been at work part of this week I have been watching Playful Piecing Techniques, a Craftsy class taught by Camille Roskelley. She and her mom Bonnie are my favorite fabric designers, everything they do is amazing to me. I want to make all the quilts from that class. I also got her newest book from JoAnn's this week and want to make many of the projects.

I especially want to make the quilts Swell, Vintage, Playground, Adorn, and Fresh. They all look like classic, retro and modern.

While I was at JoAnn's I also stumbled across this magazine. I have seen it on Instagram a lot and I fell in love with it. It is so modern and the colors and springy feel from this issue inspire me to make so many more quilts, again, add to the growing list of quilts to make.

And BONUS, it came with these adorable pins!

And while I was there I had to pick up some fat quarters to add to my stash. I am really trying to build a stash of fabrics that I can pull from if I want to try out a new block or if I want to whip something up quickly. I love them all.
It looks like I got a lot of pink, which is rare for me but with all these springy quilts popping up I realized that I need to have some pink in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by, hopefully next week I will have some quilts to show!

Two New Quilts!

Two new quilts are done and in my Etsy shop!

It was soooo windy when I was trying to take the pictures I had to use clothes pins to keep them from flying away!

This quilt has been a Work In Progress for a long time, so I'm glad its finally in the finished quilts pile. It turned out so cute!

This quilt was pieced over the summer so its not as old of a WIP. I also love the way this quilt came out.

They are both so soft and cuddly. They are perfect for babies to cuddle in, and as toddlers they can drag them along on all their adventures.

Long Time No Post

Oups. Why has it taken me so long to blog?
Probably because I have been crazy busy lately!
Good news, I have a quilt that just needs to be bound.
Even better news, I have a finished quilt that I'm getting ready to put up on Etsy.
Even better news I sold a quilt on Etsy tonight.
And I have officially blogged for the first time in over a month.
I wil be back later this week with pictures I promise.

More WIP's

Well I technically have been working on my New Year's Resolution, I have been using the fabric I have....to make more quilt tops. I have had the blocks for this quilt made since last spring and last week got inspired to finally make something out of them. I put the whole thing together in just a few hours and fell in love with it. No way am I selling this one!

Fabric is Spring House by Stephanie Ryan for Moda Fabrics.

This fabric line came out last spring I believe so I could hardly find yardage for borders and binding. I found a little at Fat Quarter Shop and bought almost all they had.

I did finish a few quilts this past week and a half. I finished binding two quilts for Christmas presents for my little cousins, but of course I forgot to take a picture of them. I also got my first T-shirt quilt back from the longarmer, it turned out awesome! I bound it and gave it to my mom for her to give as a Christmas present. I did get a picture of it though, yay me for remembering!

I hope you had a great Christmas, I sure did, now its time to get back to my machine and keep working on those UFO's!

New Year's Resolution...Starting Early

I don't know about you but I have a ton of works in progress! Like, I don't even want to tell you how many quilt tops I have finished, just waiting patiently for their batting, backing, and quilting to make them complete. I also have a ton of blocks made for various quilts, that I just need to sit down and finish, so I'm going to post some of them here so I can be accountable to finish them!
What is wrong with me? Why do I make such cute quilt tops and then never finish them? Here are just some of the tops I have that need finished.

First up I have my falling charms quilt top made from Oink-A-Doodle-Moo by Jenn Ski for Moda fabrics. I absolutely fell in love with this fabric line and still love it. So much so that this is the first of 3 quilts I made with it.

I really love this quilt.

This is also an Oink-A-Doodle-Moo quilt made mainly with left overs that I have. Yes have, not had, because I still have more!

And this is the last Oink-A-Doodle-Moo quilt top.

I just love this block!

This quilt top was pieced over a year ago and I still haven't finished it. That will change, it wont sit for another year unfinished.
This is made from Daisy Cottage by Bee In My Bonnet for Riley Blake Fabrics.

And lastly, a quilt top I made today, I want to add some borders but this is another that will get finished in 2014!
I call it Wonky Jungle Squares, I feel so bad because I can't remember the name of the fabric line, but I'm pretty sure it is also from Riley Blake.

I think this blue elephant is just adorable.

Ok, so here are 5 of my works in progress, I have lots more tho! Am I the only one or do you have tons of works in progress also?
